GiroDisc Two-Piece Performance Brake Rotors Engineered for Street and Track
12th Aug 2026
A performance brake system is only as effective as its ability to manage heat, maintain consistency, and control unsprung mass.
For enthusiasts who regularly drive their vehicles hard, the factory one-piece rotor can become an area worth upgrading. GiroDisc approaches the problem differently by replacing the conventional one-piece design with a lightweight two-piece floating rotor assembly engineered around weight reduction, ventilation, and repeated high-temperature use.
Since its founding in 2003, GiroDisc has specialized in high-performance two-piece brake rotors, developing and manufacturing its products at its facility in Bellingham, Washington.

The Two-Piece Advantage
Traditional one-piece brake rotors combine the friction ring and center section into a single component.
GiroDisc separates those functions.
Its two-piece rotor uses a 6061-T6 aluminum center hat combined with a high-carbon cast-iron friction ring. The floating assembly allows the two components to accommodate heat independently while reducing the overall mass of the rotor assembly.
Reducing unsprung and rotating weight can benefit more than braking alone. Less mass at the wheel can contribute to improved suspension response and vehicle dynamics.
Designed for Thermal Management
Repeated hard braking generates substantial heat, making thermal management critical for performance driving.
GiroDisc uses a curved-vane rotor design developed to act as a centrifugal pump, drawing cooling air through the rotor as it spins. The cast-iron friction ring is manufactured to GiroDisc's specifications and is designed around the demands of repeated high-temperature operation.
This combination of ventilation and two-piece construction is intended to help the braking system maintain consistent performance during demanding driving.
Fully Floating Construction
GiroDisc rotors use high-strength alloy-steel drive pins to connect the rotor ring and aluminum hat.
Spring clips and Belleville washers provide the controlled movement required for the floating assembly while allowing the rotors to remain street-friendly. GiroDisc specifically developed its floating design to operate quietly on the street while remaining suitable for track use.
The result is a rotor design intended to combine everyday usability with performance-oriented engineering.
Replaceable Rotor Rings
One of the major advantages of a two-piece rotor is that the center hat does not necessarily need to be replaced when the friction ring reaches the end of its service life.
GiroDisc offers replacement rings for supported applications, allowing the existing reusable hat assembly to be retained while replacing the worn rotor ring. This can make long-term ownership more practical than replacing an entire one-piece rotor assembly each time the friction surface is consumed.
Designed as a Direct Replacement
GiroDisc develops many of its applications as direct replacements for the factory brake rotor.
This allows enthusiasts to retain their existing factory brake calipers while upgrading the rotor itself, rather than immediately moving to a complete big-brake conversion.
The result can be a significant braking-system upgrade without changing the fundamental architecture of the vehicle's factory braking system.
Performance Brake Components Beyond Rotors
GiroDisc's catalog extends beyond its signature two-piece rotors.
The company also offers:
- Replacement rotor rings
- Performance brake pads
- Race brake pads
- Street/strip brake pads
- Brake fluid
- Caliper rebuild kits
- Dust boot kits
- Caliper stud kits
- Titanium pad shields
- Brake tools and service equipment
This broader range allows enthusiasts to build and maintain a more complete performance braking system around their GiroDisc rotors.
Performance Applications Across Multiple Platforms
GiroDisc products are available for a wide variety of performance vehicles.
Its application range extends across European, Japanese, and American performance platforms, including Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, BMW, Chevrolet Corvette, Toyota, and other high-performance vehicles.
Current GiroDisc development also includes applications such as the BMW G8X M2/M3/M4, Toyota GR Corolla and GR Yaris, and Corvette C8 Z06-related brake solutions.
Exact fitment varies by vehicle, brake package, model year, and rotor configuration.
Manufactured in the USA
GiroDisc maintains its engineering and manufacturing operations in Bellingham, Washington.
The company manufactures its rotor hats, rotor rings, and drive pins in-house using domestically sourced materials. Its facility also includes dedicated manufacturing equipment and brake dynamometer testing capabilities.
This level of in-house production gives GiroDisc direct control over the manufacturing process and the components used in its rotor assemblies.
