The Wagner Tuning intercooler features a 13.56-liter core volume, compared with approximately 8.4 liters for the OEM intercooler. This represents an 84.5% increase in volume, providing significantly greater capacity for cooling compressed intake air.
The performance core measures 550 mm x 170.3 mm x 145 mm and provides a 937 cm² core area, compared with approximately 840 cm² for the factory intercooler. The increased cooling capacity helps maintain more consistent intake temperatures during repeated acceleration, spirited driving, and other demanding operating conditions.
Optimized Airflow and Reduced Back Pressure
Wagner Tuning developed the intercooler's internal and external cooling surfaces to achieve an effective balance between heat transfer and airflow. The cast aluminum end tanks are designed using CAD technology and optimized through CFD simulations to promote efficient airflow through the intercooler core.
The resulting design is intended to provide excellent cooling performance while keeping internal back pressure low, helping reduce unnecessary load on the turbocharger.
