Description
The VTT Turbo-Forward Full Flow Intake System is the first and only intake upgrade for the BMW G90/G99 M5 that eliminates every single factory airflow restriction from the turbocharger to the air filters. While other kits on the market only replace the upper section of the intake, they leave the restrictive plastic turbo-side pipe untouched — the true bottleneck in the S68 intake tract. Because of this, those kits only fix half of the airflow problem.
VTT removes the entire factory turbo-side tract and replaces it with precision-machined billet 6061-T6 turbo adapters that bolt directly to the OEM turbochargers. Airflow then transitions smoothly through reinforced 2.5" to 4" high-temp silicone before entering dual VTT 4" dry element filters. The result is a genuine full-flow, zero-restriction intake system that finally lets the S68 breathe correctly.

Engineering Note — Why It Matters
On the S68 engine, the major airflow restriction is the plastic turbo-side pipe, not the upper airbox section. This component dramatically necks down right where airflow demand is highest, causing a pressure drop before air even reaches the compressor wheel. Every competing intake kit keeps that pipe in place — meaning the main airflow choke point remains untouched.
By replacing the entire turbo-side connection with billet adapters and a true 2.5"→4" transition, this system eliminates the restriction completely. The compressor receives steadier mass airflow, reduced inlet depression, and noticeably better spool behavior under load. This is where genuine intake performance gains occur.
Compatibility & Tuning Summary
This intake system is fully compatible with the factory tune and requires no calibration changes. The S68 ECU adapts normally with no drivability concerns.
While stock cars benefit from sound, smoother response, and improved airflow headroom, tuned vehicles experience the largest advantage. Higher boost targets, ethanol blends, upgraded downpipes, or larger turbochargers all increase airflow demand — which makes the factory restriction even more limiting. Removing every bottleneck before the compressor ensures the turbo does not fight against negative inlet pressure.
