Description
The Valvetronic Designs Valved Sport Exhaust System is engineered specifically for the Porsche 991.2 Carrera, bringing back the raw emotion and motorsport-inspired character that enthusiasts expect from a Porsche 911. When Porsche replaced the 991.1 generation with the 991.2, the introduction of twin turbochargers muted much of the dramatic exhaust note associated with the previous generation. Valvetronic Designs developed this exhaust package to restore that excitement while giving drivers control over exhaust volume through a valved configuration.
Sound Dynamics
Valves Open
With the valves open, exhaust gases flow almost completely unrestricted. After passing through the turbos, exhaust gases are directed through the Valvetronic valved muffler, into a large X-pipe, and out through the exhaust tips. This configuration produces an extremely raw, aggressive, motorsport-inspired exhaust tone that reconnects the Porsche 991.2 Carrera with the emotional character associated with Porsche's naturally aspirated roots.
Valves Closed
With the valves closed, exhaust sound is routed through dual quad-chamber mufflers. This significantly reduces exhaust volume, making the system better suited for quiet cruising, early-morning starts, long-distance driving, and situations where a more subdued exhaust note is preferred.
Upgraded Exhaust Manifolds
Regardless of valve configuration, the included CAD-designed and CFD-tested exhaust manifolds are engineered to improve exhaust characteristics and increase exhaust pitch. The upgraded manifolds help restore the signature emotional character that can be missing from the factory Porsche 991.2 Carrera 3.0TT exhaust setup.
