Engineered & Enhanced
The TTE290 begins as a brand-new Genuine IHI OEM turbocharger, which is carefully dismantled and upgraded using advanced engineering techniques:
- Enhanced Compressor: A larger billet compressor wheel is installed, chosen for its efficiency and lightweight properties, ensuring rapid response and exceptional performance. The compressor cover is CNC re-profiled to tight tolerances for optimal efficiency.
- Optimized Turbine Housing: The exhaust turbine housing is CNC re-profiled to accommodate a larger, high-flow TTE turbine and shaft. This enhancement increases gas flow, reduces back pressure, and lowers exhaust gas temperatures, enabling safer operation at higher boost levels.
- Performance-Driven Design: At 1.2 bar of boost, the TTE290 has been proven to deliver 270PS. Increasing boost to 1.5 bar enables the turbocharger to reach up to 290PS.
Precision Balancing
Each TTE290 turbocharger undergoes a meticulous balancing process to ensure maximum performance, durability, and longevity:
- Individual parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes.
- Assembled components are dynamically balanced at high speeds, reaching up to 250,000 RPM, using in-house VSR machines. This guarantees equilibrium to a standard exceeding OEM specifications.
- A balance test result document, complete with a serial number, is provided with each turbocharger.
