Control arm bushings provide a vital pivot and connection between core suspension components. Worn factory bushings can allow unwanted movement and deflection, negatively affecting suspension response, alignment stability, steering precision, and tire wear. SuperPro polyurethane bushings provide a durable alternative to conventional rubber while helping maintain more consistent suspension geometry.
The double offset design of the SPF4862K introduces a small but significant increase in positive caster. This additional caster can improve straight-line stability and tracking, allowing the vehicle to track straighter and return to center with less driver input.
Additional positive caster also provides dynamic camber gain as steering angle increases. As the steering wheel is turned, the added caster causes both wheels to gain camber into the turn, helping keep more of the tire contact patch on the road as the suspension loads during cornering. This can help resist the tire rolling onto its shoulder and compromising available grip.
The caster offset bushings can also enhance steering weight and feel. The caster change slightly increases steering weight as the steering moves away from center, while improved cornering grip can provide greater feedback through the steering wheel.
