Development: The BMW M5 is known for its refined sound due to extensive sound deadening and heavy muffling, which can mute the exhilarating symphony of the 4.4L engine. Our SOUL Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust offers a solution by replacing the factory mufflers with a high-flow, 3" straight pipe design. Incorporating race resonators, this system reduces drone and enhances performance. The straight-through design of the resonators maximizes power and sound under heavy throttle while minimizing harsh frequencies that can lead to droning during cruising or partial throttle conditions. Perfect for pairing with aftermarket downpipes, this exhaust system ensures a refined, aggressive sound without unwanted raspiness. The Y-pipe configuration with quad tips promotes even exhaust distribution and allows for customizable tip positioning, whether flush or staggered.
Construction: Each exhaust system features mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing with a 3" diameter and .065" wall thickness, ensuring durability and optimal flow. The straight-through race resonators use full metal packing for longevity, while laser-cut brackets guarantee precise fitment. Choose from several hand-finished tip options to customize the appearance of your M5. The new cast Y section introduced in 2020 enhances interior flow with a smooth, knife-edged split for improved performance.
Power: Our development vehicle achieved 610 wheel horsepower and 615 ft-lbs of torque during dyno testing at R/T Tuning, equipped with catless downpipes, a custom tune, and the SOUL Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust.
