The SD1 utilizes a specialized "dirt-track" configuration. By eliminating front vents, Simpson has created a barrier that keeps dust, silt, and debris out of the driver's face. Fitment & Maintenance Information
For maximum protection, a precise fit is essential. This Small model is part of a 6-size range (XS–XXL) built across two dedicated shell sizes to ensure an optimized weight-to-size ratio. The Snell Foundation recommends replacing your racing helmet every five (5) years from the date of manufacture, as internal protective materials can lose effectiveness over time.
To maintain the shell’s integrity and the Red finish, clean only with a soft microfiber cloth and mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents, as they can damage the impact-absorbing EPS liner or the outer finish. Always store your SD1 in a dry, protected helmet bag between events to keep it in race-ready condition.
