Description
The Simpson Racing Hybrid Youth Sport provides the same high-level engineering and safety as the adult Hybrid series, but in a frame that is 25% smaller to specifically accommodate junior drivers (ages 4 and up). This device is constructed from a specialized DuPont carbon/polymer composite, offering a lightweight yet incredibly strong solution that won't overwhelm smaller frames.
Equipped with Standard Quick Release and D-Ring anchors, this model is designed for rapid detachment. A simple pull of the release cord allows the junior driver to disconnect from the helmet instantly, facilitating a fast and safe exit from the vehicle.
Engineering Tailored for Junior Racers
-
SFI 38.1 Certified: Meets the critical safety standards required for competition, ensuring professional-grade impact management for younger athletes.
-
Multiple Load Paths: The structure is engineered to dissipate head loads through various paths, significantly reducing the force transferred to the neck and spine during an impact.
-
Low Profile Design: All Hybrid Series restraints are designed to "disappear" into the seat. This low-profile fit makes it easier for smaller drivers to enter and exit the cockpit without getting caught on roll bars or window nets.
-
Continuous Protection: The Hybrid Sport stays with the driver. Unlike traditional devices that require seatbelt tension to stay in place, this restraint provides consistent protection during complex accidents, including flips and barrel rolls.
Enhanced Maneuverability & Comfort
-
Multi-Tether System: Features sliding tethers that enhance the side-to-side range of movement. This allows junior drivers a wider field of vision to check their surroundings while maintaining full vertical safety.
-
Sleek Modern Profile: The frame features defined "wings" that act as guides for the seatbelts, ensuring the harness remains perfectly centered and contained on the device at all times.
-
Lightweight Construction: The use of carbon-reinforced polymer ensures the device is light enough for a child to wear during long practice sessions and races without excessive neck fatigue.
Optional SAS (Seatbelt Anchor System)
This device is compatible with the optional patented Seatbelt Anchor System (SAS). When equipped, the SAS provides even greater coverage and stability during extreme side impacts, flips, and barrel rolls by further securing the device to the driver's harness system.

Care & Maintenance
To ensure the safety of the junior driver, inspect the Hybrid Youth Sport before every event for any signs of hairline cracks, hardware damage, or fraying tethers. Clean the composite frame with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid harsh chemical solvents. Store the device in a cool, dry place. Note: SFI 38.1 devices require recertification every five years. Check the manufacture date on the SFI tag to ensure the equipment remains compliant with your racing series' regulations.
