The R44 system is the result of extensive development and testing on the S58 platform. This full cat-back exhaust system effectively removes the secondary catalytic converters, OPF filters on EU vehicles (refer to the notes below), and the mid-silencer. By reducing these restrictions, the exhaust system facilitates a significant increase in airflow, resulting in enhanced horsepower and performance.
Key Features:
- Sound Design: The system includes two bullet silencers in the mid-pipe to refine the exhaust note and is equipped with two valves. The valves operate in conjunction with the original BMW system, allowing air to flow directly through when open, producing a rich sound that showcases the hidden burbles and cracks.
- Noise Control: For those moments when you want to tone down the sound, simply close the valves. This will redirect airflow into the resonator box, reducing noise without compromising performance.
- OPF EU Cars: The system utilizes an OPF delete connector that simulates OPF filter readings. Our pipework is designed with all necessary OPF connections to ensure accurate gas readings. This setup prevents engine management lights from triggering. For newer models (2023 and onwards), our CAN MIL technology allows for error coding on sensitive ECUs.
