Description
BMW and MINI vehicles manufactured from June 2020 onward are equipped with factory-locked Bosch ECUs/DMEs, preventing traditional ECU tuning and remapping. The FEMTO Unlock Service provides a professional solution to unlock these ECUs, enabling full tuning access for performance upgrades.
This service is intended for regular BMW and MINI (non-M models) with a single Bosch ECU. Once unlocked, your ECU will be ready for custom performance tuning using PSR Parts Performance Custom Tuning, Bootmod3, or MHD.
How the FEMTO Unlock Process Works

The ECU/DME must be physically removed from the vehicle

You can ship the ECU to us or bring the vehicle to our workshop for inspection

We verify whether the ECU is locked

If locked, the ECU is sent to FEMTO (Finland) for unlocking

Once unlocked, the ECU is returned and ready for tuning
⚠️ Important: The vehicle will not be drivable while the ECU is removed.
Turnaround Time

Typical FEMTO unlock time: 3–5 working days after express shipping to Finland

As this service is performed by a third party (FEMTO), lead times cannot be guaranteed
