The PERRIN Air Oil Separator (AOS) for Subaru BRZ, Toyota GR86, Toyota 86, and Scion FR-S applications is designed to improve engine reliability and performance by removing oil vapors from crankcase blow-by before they enter the intake system. Built for Subaru FA20 and FA24 boxer engines, this system helps reduce carbon buildup, protect intake components, and maintain consistent combustion efficiency.
Unlike traditional catch cans that require frequent draining, the PERRIN AOS operates as a closed-loop system that captures oil particles and returns them safely to the engine. This eliminates routine maintenance while ensuring clean airflow into the intake manifold under all driving conditions.
The system uses advanced internal airflow separation technology, combining a swirling vortex effect with engineered internal passage geometry to efficiently separate oil from air and vapor. This reduces oil contamination in the intake tract, intercooler system, and combustion chamber, helping maintain optimal engine performance.
A key feature of the PERRIN AOS is its optimized placement design, which ensures proper engine bay fitment while maintaining clearance from aftermarket components such as strut braces, intake systems, and brake master cylinder supports.
Constructed from CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a high-temperature ceramic coating rated over 500°F, the system is built for long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and heat protection. Aluminum fittings and stainless-steel hardware ensure secure, reliable installation.
