The PERRIN Air Oil Separator (AOS) for 2019-2025 Subaru Outback XT, Legacy XT, and Ascent models is engineered to improve engine reliability and long-term performance by removing oil vapors from crankcase blow-by before they enter the intake system. Designed for Subaru FA24 turbocharged engines, this system helps reduce carbon buildup, protect intake components, and maintain cleaner combustion.
Unlike traditional catch cans that require regular draining, the PERRIN AOS uses a closed-loop separation system that captures oil particles and returns them directly to the engine. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance while ensuring consistent airflow and intake cleanliness.
The system uses advanced internal airflow separation technology, combining a swirling oil separation process with engineered internal impact surfaces. These features work together to efficiently remove oil from air and vapor mixtures, reducing contamination in the intake tract, intercooler, and combustion chamber.
A key feature of this system is its coolant-heated design, which stabilizes internal temperatures to minimize condensation and sludge formation. This ensures reliable separation performance across a wide range of driving conditions and climates.
Constructed from CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a high-temperature ceramic coating rated over 500°F, the system is built for durability, chemical resistance, and long-term reliability. Aluminum fittings and stainless-steel hardware ensure a secure and precise installation.
The application-specific mounting system is designed for optimal placement in the engine bay, maintaining clearance from intercoolers, intake systems, and other aftermarket components while preserving OEM serviceability.
