Installation
The rear bumper must be modified to install these vent inserts. Carefully follow the supplied template and installation instructions before cutting the bumper.
Basic Installation Process:
- Remove the protective film from the product.
- Have the product painted if required.
- Tape the supplied template securely to the rear bumper.
- Use the inner outline of the template to mark the area that needs to be cut.
- Remove the template and carefully cut the marked opening.
- Reposition the template using the outer outline to assist with final vent alignment.
- Test-fit the vent insert and verify proper positioning.
- Secure the vent to the bumper using panel bonder or 3M adhesive.
- Repeat the process on the opposite side.
The inner cut does not need to be perfectly precise because the vent insert is designed to overlap the opening and conceal much of the cut edge.
Important Installation Note: A brace is located behind the rear bumper in the installation area. If cutting the bumper while it remains installed on the vehicle, you may need to remove the bumper or pull the side of the bumper slightly away from the vehicle to provide adequate clearance.
