Forced induction engines like the 2022+ Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo generate pressurized gases that are recirculated through the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system. Unfortunately, these gases often carry oil particles that coat the intake tract and valves—leading to carbon buildup, reduced combustion efficiency, and lowered octane levels.
The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can – PCV Side is designed to combat these issues by capturing oil vapors before they re-enter your intake. This is particularly important for direct-injection engines like the L15B7, which are known for severe intake valve carbon buildup.
As blow-by gases pass through the catch can, they’re filtered by a 50-micron bronze filter and an internal air diverter baffle. This separates oil particles from the air stream, allowing them to condense and collect safely in the reservoir. The result? Cleaner air re-entering the intake, improved combustion, and extended engine life.
