Description
The MG Flasher Stage 1 tune for BMW B58-powered F and G Series vehicles is engineered for drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of an otherwise stock vehicle. Designed to safely enhance power and torque delivery, this calibration optimizes the entire powerband, eliminating dips in acceleration while providing smooth, consistent performance throughout the RPM range.
This OTS (Off-The-Shelf) calibration delivers increased boost pressure, optimized ignition timing, refined lambda targets, and enhanced torque management for improved responsiveness and driving enjoyment.
Important: A valid MG Flasher License is required to flash any OTS or custom maps.
ECU Compatibility & Unlock Requirements
- ECUs manufactured July 2020 and newer are supported with a bench unlock performed by Femto or AutoTuner.
- ECU must be sent to an unlock provider or unlocked by a qualified third-party tuner using appropriate tools.
- Recent software updates may require Bench OBD Unlock.
- Bench unlock services are not included and may incur additional charges from the service provider.

Transmission Limiter Information
Gen 2 Vehicles
MG Flasher provides software-based torque limiter adjustment without requiring transmission tuning or manipulating torque/load calculation models.
Factory torque limits:
- B58: 550 Nm (400 lb-ft)
- B48: 440 Nm (325 lb-ft)
MG Flasher technology allows adjustment of these limits up to 1000 Nm through proprietary software controls. The limiter value is adjustable directly within the application.
Gen 1 Vehicles with 8HP50 Transmission
These vehicles retain a transmission torque limiter. For optimal performance and smooth torque delivery, transmission limiter increases are recommended.
Available options:
- Increase transmission limiter using xHP Flashtool
- Have a qualified tuner recalibrate transmission ECU limiter settings
Software Integrity Features
- CVN (Checksum Verification Number) remains unchanged
- Flash counter remains untouched
- Maintains OEM-style software signatures for reduced visibility during dealer-level diagnostics
