Upgrade the sound and appearance of your BMW M340i or M440i with the MAD BMW M340i / M440i Axleback Exhaust System. Designed as a cost-effective alternative to a complete catback exhaust, this axleback system focuses on the portion of the exhaust that directly impacts exhaust sound and driving character while retaining the factory midpipe.
Unlike a full catback system, the MAD Axleback Exhaust does not require replacing the factory midpipe. On the BMW M340i and M440i platforms, the OEM midpipe features a straight-through, non-restrictive design without catalytic converters or resonators, making an axleback-focused upgrade an effective solution for achieving a more aggressive exhaust note without unnecessary additional components.
The MAD Axleback Exhaust delivers a deeper, louder, and more aggressive exhaust tone under throttle while maintaining a refined and comfortable sound during normal driving. The system also upgrades the factory single-valve exhaust configuration to a true dual M-style valve setup, utilizing the OEM valve motor along with an additional included valve and harness.
OEM drive mode functionality is retained. The exhaust remains quieter in Comfort mode and opens fully when Sport mode is selected, providing increased exhaust sound when desired while maintaining factory-style operation during everyday driving.
Installation is quick and straightforward using the OEM BMW designated exhaust cut points. The cut-and-clamp design allows the vehicle to be returned to its factory configuration later using OEM BMW sleeve clamps.
Constructed from premium 304L stainless steel, the MAD Axleback Exhaust features larger 76 mm piping compared to the factory 70 mm piping for increased exhaust flow. The system is available with your choice of 101 mm (4-inch) brushed stainless steel, black, or carbon fiber exhaust tips, allowing you to customize the appearance of your BMW.
