Description

M7 Speed Stage 2 Chassis Reinforcement Kit – 2002–2006 MINI Cooper Hatchback (Gen 1)

Transform your Gen 1 MINI Cooper into a precision-handling machine with the M7 Speed Stage 2 Chassis Reinforcement Kit. Designed specifically for 2002–2006 MINI Cooper and Cooper S hatchback models (R50/R53), this kit combines two of M7’s most effective chassis-stiffening upgrades: the Under Strut System (USS) and the Rear Chassis Brace (RCB). Together, they dramatically increase structural rigidity for sharper turn-in, reduced understeer, and exceptional cornering stability.

Complete Stage 2 Kit Includes

  • M7 Under Strut System (USS):
Three integrated extruded and CNC-machined aluminum braces that connect and triangulate the underside of the chassis. Black anodized finish resists corrosion and chipping. Includes stainless steel hardware and nut-insert installation tools.

  • M7 Rear Chassis Brace (RCB):
Rigid billet aluminum cross-brace that ties the rear suspension mounting points together to eliminate chassis flex under hard cornering. Designed to retain full use of the rear seats and cargo area. Optional accessory plates allow mounting of a fire extinguisher or track equipment without drilling the interior.

Key Benefits

  • Significantly increases chassis stiffness for improved suspension performance.

  • Enhances steering response and reduces understeer during aggressive driving or emergency maneuvers.

  • Allows springs, shocks, and sway bars to maintain optimal tire contact with the road.

  • Maintains full rear-seat usability—no roll cage required.

  • Direct bolt-on installation; engineered, tested, and proven for both street and track use.

Fitment

  • 2002–2006 MINI Cooper Base (R50)

  • 2002–2006 MINI Cooper S (R53)

Note: May require slight adjustment when used with certain aftermarket exhaust systems such as Milltek or Alta. Proper perpendicular drilling is critical for correct USS installation.
