Description
Upgrade the intake system of your BMW S65 engine with the Infinity Design S65 Modular Carbon Plenum, a complete redesign of the OEM plenum engineered to deliver increased airflow potential, enhanced induction sound, and modular functionality. Inspired by the design philosophy of the Infinity Design S85 plenum, this carbon fiber system is designed to offer more than a simple OEM replacement.
Constructed with a 1.2mm wall thickness and manufactured from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, the Infinity Design S65 Modular Carbon Plenum maximizes the full sound character of the S65 engine while incorporating increased volume in the upper frontal section and top cover.
The modular construction allows different lids and velocity stacks to be used, providing flexibility for future configurations and performance upgrades. The supplied carbon velocity stacks are larger than the OEM units and feature a larger opening to improve airflow characteristics.

Modular Design
The Infinity Design S65 Modular Carbon Plenum features a modular architecture that allows different lids and velocity stack configurations to be used. This design provides greater flexibility compared to a conventional one-piece OEM-style plenum.
Interchangeable Velocity Stacks
The modular system allows the velocity stacks to be changed, giving users the ability to configure the plenum according to their desired setup.
Larger Velocity Stacks
The included carbon velocity stacks are larger than the OEM velocity stacks and feature a larger opening. The redesigned shape and increased size are intended to improve airflow characteristics and contribute to the measured performance gains.
CNC Throttle Body Connectors
The plenum includes CNC-machined throttle body bosses/connectors designed specifically for the system and supplied as part of the complete package.
Performance Testing
While a significant performance gain would not necessarily be expected simply from increasing plenum volume, Infinity Design also evaluated the effects of the larger and reshaped velocity stacks.
Dyno testing was performed under strictly controlled conditions using an independent Dynojet machine. Testing was conducted with the Infinity Design high-flow intake system already installed to allow both the OEM plenum and upgraded carbon plenum to perform at their best.
Two consecutive runs with the OEM plenum produced consistent power curves and similar power output:
- 340 hp / 269 lb-ft
- 343 hp / 268 lb-ft
After installation of the Infinity Design upgraded carbon plenum, the dyno produced:
- 350 hp / 269 lb-ft
- 349 hp / 269 lb-ft
Measured Increases
- 5-8 hp through 5600-6400 rpm
- 8-10 hp through 6800-8200 rpm
These results demonstrate the measured gains achieved during the controlled dyno testing with the high-flow intake system already installed.
