GSC R3 Camshafts – 5.0L Coyote Gen 3 (2018–2023 Mustang GT)
The GSC R3 Camshaft Set for the Gen 3 5.0L Coyote is engineered for max-effort, high-RPM race engines equipped with ported cylinder heads and designed to run on methanol. This profile is built to carry power deep into the RPM range, letting the Coyote operate at its absolute limits while maintaining precision, reliability, and durability under extreme conditions.
Extreme Race Performance
The R3 profile is optimized for high-flow ported heads and methanol-capable combinations, delivering a usable powerband from 6,500–10,000 RPM with peak output around 9,500 RPM. For engines with locked phasers, two peak ranges are available: ~8,400 RPM or ~9,500 RPM depending on tuning strategy. This cam is designed for engines where high-RPM trap speed and track domination take priority over street manners.
Precision Engineered for Gen 3 Ported Heads
Each R3 cam profile is modeled against ported Gen 3 cylinder head flow data and rocker geometry for maximum lift and valve control at extreme RPMs. Forged from U.S.-sourced billet steel and finished with BLACK ISE surface treatment, these cams reduce friction and maintain longevity even under sustained high-RPM operation.
Direct Injection Compatible
The DI/HPFP lobe is retained to OEM specifications, ensuring proper operation of the high-pressure fuel pump in methanol applications. This allows the R3 cams to maintain reliable fuel delivery for extreme race engines.
