Each rotor ring is precision-machined from GiroDisc's proprietary high-carbon iron casting, offering superior heat resistance, reduced wear, and outstanding braking consistency under repeated heavy braking. The internal 72 curved vane design functions as a centrifugal air pump, maximizing airflow through the rotor to significantly improve cooling performance and reduce brake fade.
The lightweight rotor hats are CNC-machined from premium 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a durable black anodized coating for corrosion protection and long-lasting appearance. High-strength steel alloy drive pins feature a cadmium-plated finish for increased corrosion resistance, while the floating hardware incorporates spring clips and Belleville washers to provide true race-ready floating performance without the unwanted noise commonly associated with loose floating hardware.
One of the biggest advantages of the GiroDisc 2-piece rotor system is its serviceability. When the rotor rings eventually wear out, you can retain the original aluminum hats and simply install replacement rotor rings (Part Number: D2-322), significantly reducing future maintenance costs.
For optimum safety and performance, GiroDisc recommends replacing the rotor rings once they reach a minimum thickness of 26mm, or sooner if any crack propagates to the outer edge of the rotor ring.
