The BMS CANflex system uses a genuine Continental® ethanol content sensor to measure the fuel mixture and functions as an ethanol content analyzer, E85 analyzer, and flex fuel analyzer in one compact package. Ethanol content can be monitored through the integrated LED display, the free BMS CANflex Bluetooth app for iOS and Android, or through CANbus and 5V output connections for tuning and legacy applications.
Designed for seamless integration with popular BMW tuning solutions, the CANflex ECA supports JB4 as well as flash-based tuning platforms including MHD, bootmod3 (BM3), and EcuTek when configured to read the standard 0xEC flex fuel CANbus address format.
Real-Time Ethanol Monitoring & Tuning Integration
The BMS CANflex ECA provides four convenient methods for accessing ethanol content data:
- CANbus output: User-selectable CANbus addressing for integration with MHD, BM3, EcuTek, and JB4.
- Bluetooth connectivity: Monitor ethanol content wirelessly using the free BMS CANflex app on compatible iOS and Android devices.
- Integrated LED display: Quickly view ethanol content directly from the CANflex head unit without connecting a smartphone.
- 5V output: Provides legacy compatibility for older ECUs and non-CANbus JB4 applications.
The system is designed for a straightforward installation and can typically be installed in approximately 30 minutes, depending on the vehicle and harness configuration.
Complete Flex Fuel Sensor Kit
The CANflex kit includes the components required to monitor ethanol content and integrate the data with your BMW's tuning system. The included genuine Continental® ethanol sensor provides accurate fuel composition measurement, while the BMS CANflex ECA processes and communicates the ethanol content data through multiple output methods.
The kit also includes a 10-bar low fuel pressure sensor, providing an important data input for B58 tuning applications. Stainless steel braided fuel lines with a protective black nylon sheath help provide durability while protecting surrounding engine-bay components.
A custom fitting is included to simplify future port-injection integration. The 1/8-inch NPT fitting can be removed to accommodate an optional port-injection line.
Harness Options
The BMS CANflex system is available with either a plug-and-play harness or universal harness, depending on the vehicle and application.
Important: Manual transmission vehicles and BM3 applications require the universal harness with posi-taps for CANbus connections.
