Developed and tested at Forge Motorsport’s UK headquarters, this intercooler fits all MQB chassis vehicles without the need for cutting or irreversible modifications.
The bar-and-plate core design offers 83% more volume and a 10% larger frontal area than the factory unit, while increased 76mm inlet and outlet diameters promote smooth airflow and lower pressure drop. Finished in a stealth black thermal coating, the intercooler combines function and form with OEM-level fit and finish.

Dyno Results:
Tested using a VTEC 4WD dynamometer, the Forge intercooler delivered a consistent 16 horsepower and 20Nm torque gain at 5500 RPM, with substantial improvements across the rev range. IATs dropped from 58°C to 34°C at 6000 RPM, even after repeated dyno pulls, proving its efficiency and ability to eliminate heat soak. Testing was conducted at an ambient dyno cell temperature of 23°C for real-world accuracy.
Why Lower IATs Matter:
Cooler intake air is denser and contains more oxygen, improving combustion efficiency and power output. Lower IATs also reduce engine knock, protect against detonation, and maintain consistent performance during prolonged spirited driving. Especially on tuned or performance vehicles, high IATs can cause ECU timing pull, power loss, and increased engine wear. The Forge intercooler prevents these issues by maintaining safe, consistent intake temperatures.
