The Evolution Racewerks Sports Series 4.5" High Flow Catted Downpipe is engineered specifically for the 2020+ Toyota Supra 3.0 equipped with the B58 turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Built in-house in the USA, this downpipe is designed to significantly reduce exhaust restriction, improve turbocharger efficiency, and increase overall engine performance while maintaining direct bolt-on compatibility with both factory and aftermarket exhaust systems.
From the factory, the Supra’s ceramic catalytic converter uses a dense 900-cell core that forces exhaust gases through tightly packed passages, increasing backpressure and slowing velocity. Evolution Racewerks replaces this with a high-flow 200-cell metallic substrate, allowing exhaust gases to move more freely. The result is higher horsepower potential, quicker initial torque delivery, faster turbo spool, and sharper throttle response. Metallic catalysts also offer greater heat resistance, improved longevity, and reduced weight when compared to factory ceramic units.
The unique design of the B58 turbocharger features a large 4.5" outlet, considerably bigger than the previous generation N55’s 4". To eliminate the turbulence and backpressure that would occur if using a smaller flange, Evolution Racewerks created a precision CNC-machined 4.5" V-Band flange that perfectly matches the turbo outlet. This ensures a smooth, unobstructed exhaust path. Although sourcing true 4.5" stainless steel tubing presented manufacturing challenges, ER engineered a full 4.5" solution to deliver uncompromised performance.
Constructed from 100% 304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, the ER Sports Series Downpipe maintains maximum strength and long-term durability. The design uses long, gradual transitions when stepping down from the 4.5" inlet toward the 3" exhaust connection, minimizing turbulence and maintaining high exhaust velocity. The factory O2 sensor locations, CNC-machined bungs, and laser-cut brackets are retained for perfect fitment. Optional additions include an extra O2 sensor bung for wideband use and an EGT bung for temperature monitoring, both supplied with pre-installed plugs.
Like the OEM unit, ER incorporates a high-quality stainless steel flex section to absorb movement and prevent undue stress on the turbocharger, exhaust manifold, and exhaust system—critical for long-term reliability, especially on lowered vehicles or cars subjected to frequent road contact.
Available in a standard brushed finish or optional polished finish, the downpipe can also be ordered with a premium high-temperature black thermal ceramic coating rated for up to 2000°F. This coating reduces underhood temperatures, helps maintain exhaust gas energy, improves corrosion resistance, and enhances overall performance.
