Dinan's design retains the factory electronic shocks but replaces the springs with a more aggressive formula and implements threaded collars for user-adjustable ride height. Unlike standard aftermarket suspensions, which often exacerbate oversteer in the G8x M3/M4 models, Dinan's setup softens the rear spring rate and switches to a dual-rate spring setup. This combination increases predictability and compliance, offering better rear grip and road holding. The sleek lowered stance not only improves handling but also enhances the vehicle's visual appeal. The springs, combined with progressive bump stops, allow the car to be lowered up to 1-1/8" in the front and 2-1/4" in the rear, with recommended drops of 3/4" (M4) or 7/8" (M3) in front and 3/4" in the rear to maintain ride quality. Suspension packers are included for fine-tuning handling and comfort by adjusting the clearance of the progressive bump stops.
