The COBB Front Mount Intercooler for the Ford Mustang EcoBoost – cobb7M1500 is one of the most effective upgrades for combating heatsoak and maintaining consistent power. The factory intercooler quickly becomes saturated during spirited driving, leading to rising intake temps and reduced performance. COBB’s upgraded FMIC solves this with a significantly larger core, cast aluminum end tanks, and CFD-engineered air-diverting fins that evenly distribute airflow across the entire intercooler.
This kit includes 3" mandrel-bent aluminum charge piping, a reinforced 4-ply COBB silicone coupler, and requires no cutting or permanent modifications. It retains compatibility with the factory MAP sensor and fits cleanly behind the OEM bumper. When paired with Accessport tuning—especially Stage 2 OTS maps—the performance gains become even more substantial.
