Upgrade your BMW G8X M3 or M4 with the CarBahn Performance 704 HP Stage 2 Performance Controller Power Package. Designed as a plug-and-play electronic control unit, the CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC) increases horsepower and torque from the turbocharged BMW engine while providing selectable performance maps that can be accessed and adjusted through a smartphone application using Bluetooth.
The CarBahn Performance Controller gives drivers the flexibility to select maps optimized for different fuel octane levels, including 91, 93, and 100 octane options. This allows the controller to optimize engine performance according to the fuel being used.
On 93-octane fuel, the OEM stock configuration produces a calculated 515 horsepower and 462 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel, while the tuned configuration increases output to 565 horsepower and 503 lb-ft of torque. Measured wheel power increases from 453 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque in the OEM stock configuration to 497 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque when tuned.
With 100-octane fuel, the tuned configuration reaches 602 horsepower and 540 lb-ft of torque in calculated flywheel power, while measured wheel power reaches 530 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
The package also incorporates CarBahn's advanced heat exchanger technology. CarBahn engineered its heat exchanger with a focus on thermal efficiency, flow dynamics, weight reduction, and overall performance. According to CarBahn, the heat exchanger provides a 40% increase in cooling capacity compared with existing heat exchangers in the market. Its design draws inspiration from Formula 1 heat exchanger technology and uses high-performance features, optimized flow dynamics, lightweight materials, and improved structural design to enhance heat transfer efficiency while reducing weight.
The CarBahn Performance Controller is designed for easy installation and includes Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone-based map selection. An optional powertrain warranty is also available for CarBahn products, including the CPC.
If you choose to upgrade from the CarBahn Performance Controller to CarBahn software in the future, an upgrade fee of $250 applies. If a warranty was purchased with the controller, the warranty can be transferred to the software upgrade at no additional charge.

Emissions Legality
CarBahn addresses catalyst removal, which is commonly achieved through the use of aftermarket downpipes. During testing, CarBahn conducted consecutive dyno runs with and without the catalyst and observed a power gain that was significantly smaller than commonly advertised, typically around 2%.
CarBahn also emphasizes the importance of emissions compliance and environmental responsibility. Obtaining the necessary emissions certifications without a catalyst is difficult, and removing the catalyst is considered an infringement from a legal standpoint.
