Description
Fits: 2012-2013 Volkswagen Golf R
Overview
The APR Low Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) Upgrade is engineered to ensure that the low pressure fueling system delivers the necessary fuel volume from the tank to the high pressure system during high-demand scenarios. Upgrading the LPFP can be challenging due to various constraints, including limited space for a larger pump and the requirements for PWM signals.
Challenges with Upgrading the LPFP:
- Limited room for an upgraded pump
- OEM pump requires a PWM signal
- OEM controller may overheat with high-output pumps
- Compatibility issues with upgraded OEM pump controllers
- Potential ECU modifications required
- Secondary controllers often rely on physical boost signals
The factory LPFP is submerged in the fuel tank and operates on a pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal from the control module, adjusting output based on fuel demand. However, upgrading this system is not straightforward due to packaging constraints and overheating risks.
The APR Solution:
- Inline fuel pump
- Dedicated fuel pump controller with ECU CAN bus communication
- Clean mounting brackets included
- Direct bolt-on with no software required
The APR LPFP System features a 255 LPH high-pressure inline fuel pump that installs between the HPFP and the factory LPFP. The included APR Auxiliary ECU connects to the factory CAN bus, ensuring accurate pump control based on real-time engine demands. This integration allows the pump to operate only when needed, minimizing power consumption and noise.
Features:
- APR LPFP ECU, harness, and bracket
- APR 255 LPH high-pressure inline fuel pump and bracket
- OEM-quality fuel lines, crimp clamps, and quick connectors
- Simple solution for OEM low pressure fueling system
- Supports higher output calibrations with select APR Stage 3/3+ Turbocharger Systems
- Integrated into factory CAN bus for seamless operation
