Designed as an OE replacement, this lightweight carbon fiber hood maintains the factory-inspired design of the C8 while reducing weight and adding a premium motorsport-inspired appearance.
Anderson Composites components are carefully hand-crafted using advanced carbon fiber manufacturing techniques and premium materials. This Type-OE hood is manufactured using an autoclave process with 3K 2x2 twill carbon fiber cloth and features a matte finish that highlights the distinctive carbon fiber weave.
The hand-crafted dry carbon fiber construction results in a hood weighing approximately 9 lbs., compared with the 15.7-lb. OE hood, providing an approximate 6.7-lb. weight reduction. The reduced weight can contribute to a lighter front-end assembly while giving the vehicle a distinctive carbon fiber appearance.
The hood is designed to mount using the vehicle's OE hardware. Factory mounting hardware is not included, so the original hardware should be retained and available for installation.
Because this is a dry carbon fiber component without UV protection, Anderson Composites recommends applying an automotive-grade clear coat containing UV inhibitors if the hood will remain exposed in its raw carbon fiber finish. Alternatively, the component can be painted or wrapped according to the owner's preference.
