The aFe POWER Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System with Pro DRY S Filter is engineered to improve airflow efficiency, throttle response, and overall engine performance for GM 5.3L V8 trucks and SUVs. Designed using advanced CAD modeling and validated through dyno testing, this intake system delivers measurable power gains while maintaining OEM-level fit and reliability.
This system provides dyno-proven gains of up to +8 horsepower and +13 lb-ft of torque, while flowing 25% more air than the factory intake. With a measured airflow of 630 CFM @ 7" H₂O, the Momentum GT intake allows the engine to breathe more efficiently across the RPM range, improving acceleration and drivability.
At the heart of the system is a large 9-inch tall, 360-degree radial flow Pro DRY S air filter featuring a 5.5-inch flange and three layers of oil-free synthetic media. The Pro DRY S filter delivers excellent filtration efficiency and dust-holding capacity without the need for oiling, making it ideal for daily driving and light off-road use. Its design ensures consistent airflow with minimal maintenance.
The intake system utilizes a smooth, one-piece sealed housing constructed from heat-resistant cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The housing incorporates a patented filter-to-housing interface, allowing the air filter to be removed for service by simply disconnecting the intake tube. A clear sight window is built into the housing, enabling quick filter inspections without disassembly. The housing also integrates the factory air inlet scoop, drawing in cool outside air without requiring additional hardware.
A computer-designed, dyno-tuned intake tube ensures optimized airflow while maintaining a precise factory-style fit. Manufactured from durable XLPE material, the intake tube resists heat soak and engine bay temperatures for consistent performance.
Premium installation components include stainless-steel T-bolt clamps for superior strength and a high-quality bellows coupling that absorbs engine movement, ensuring a secure and leak-free seal. The system is designed with fewer components than traditional intake systems and installs easily using factory mounting locations, with no cutting or modifications required.
