The Pro DRY S synthetic filter media features a three-layer, progressive dry-media construction that provides effective filtration without the need for filter oil. This makes the filter particularly convenient for street-driven vehicles, as maintenance is simple and clean. When servicing is required, the filter can be cleaned and recharged using the appropriate aFe POWER cleaning products.
The filter uses deep, rounded open pleats to maximize usable filtration surface area. The increased surface area helps improve airflow while providing greater dust-holding capacity compared with conventional flat filter designs. The evenly spaced pleats also help maintain consistent airflow through the filter during normal driving conditions.
A progressive bump seal creates a flexible, conforming sealing surface that adapts to variations in the factory airbox. This design provides a secure fit and helps prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the filter without requiring additional gaskets or sealants.
For long-term durability, the filter is constructed with a 100% polyurethane frame surrounding all sides.
