The design is based on Active Autowerke's proven S68 platform development and is tailored to fit the unique exhaust configuration of BMW X-Series applications.
Constructed from TIG-welded 304 stainless steel, each downpipe set is manufactured in-house and carefully inspected to ensure precise fitment and long-term durability. The system utilizes a factory-matched offset inlet that transitions into a high-flow mandrel-bent 3-inch body and includes the lower section commonly sold separately as a mid-pipe by other manufacturers.
A major advantage of the Active Autowerke S68T Downpipes is their compatibility with the OEM O2 sensor heat shield. Once installed, the engine bay retains a factory appearance for a clean, sleeper-style look.
These downpipes are available with either premium GESI Ultra High Output catalytic converters or Active AFlow high-flow catalytic converters. Both options are engineered to dramatically improve exhaust flow while minimizing the likelihood of catalyst-efficiency check engine lights.
The GESI and Active AFlow catalytic converters feature full 304 stainless steel construction, including the substrate, and are EPA registered and fully OBD2 compliant for vehicles model year 1996 and newer. Their advanced precious metal loading technology helps reduce emissions while supporting applications producing up to 1,000 horsepower.
The high-flow catalyst design reduces backpressure, allowing faster turbo spool, improved engine responsiveness, and increased power throughout the RPM range. Operational efficiency can be achieved in as little as nine seconds after startup, helping maintain emissions compliance while maximizing performance.
No cutting, welding, or permanent modifications are required. The system is designed as a direct bolt-on installation using factory mounting locations.
