Starting with a brand-new BorgWarner K04-064 turbocharger, TTE engineers optimize and enhance every component to deliver exceptional performance while maintaining near-OEM fitment. Engineered & Enhanced for Maximum Performance
The TTE420 utilizes a significantly larger 2871X TTE billet compressor wheel. This next-generation compressor geometry features thin blades for maximum airflow and an exceptionally broad compressor map, ensuring optimal efficiency and power output. The compressor cover is precisely re-profiled for enhanced efficiency, while the PCV port is replaced with a TTE billet blanking plate, optimizing smooth airflow.
To further improve airflow, the intake pipe is CNC ported and hand-finished, ensuring a seamless transition for incoming air. The compressor cover also incorporates a TTE billet recirculation valve adapter, allowing the use of an Original VAG Recirculation Valve for an OEM-like fit and reliable operation.
The exhaust system benefits from a BorgWarner K16 curved clipped turbine and shaft. This modification reduces back pressure, enhances gas flow, and lowers exhaust gas temperatures (EGT), allowing safer, higher boost levels. The turbine is also lightened to improve the moment of inertia, ensuring rapid spool times and improved response.
The TTE420 includes an uprated OE actuator with reinforced clamps for trouble-free operation, as well as a TTE-developed high-performance 360-degree motorsport journal bearing system. This advanced bearing system ensures durability under high loads without sacrificing transient response.
Precision Balancing for Optimal Performance
Each TTE420 turbocharger undergoes rigorous balancing processes to ensure longevity, performance, and acoustics. All individual parts are balanced at speeds up to 2,800 RPM, followed by dynamic CHRA balancing at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM using state-of-the-art equipment. This meticulous process guarantees the ultimate equilibrium, far exceeding OEM standards. Each turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test result document for quality assurance.
