Description

Enhance performance, throttle response, and turbo efficiency with the Evolution Racewerks Sports Series 4" High Flow Metallic Catted Downpipe for BMW N55 turbocharged engines. Engineered for maximum exhaust flow, reduced turbo lag, and improved durability, this downpipe is manufactured in-house in the USA using premium 304 stainless steel and 100% TIG-welded construction.

The factory downpipe’s 400-cell ceramic catalytic converter creates major exhaust restriction, turbulence, and heat retention. This upgraded downpipe replaces it with a higher-flow 200-cell metallic catalyst, allowing exhaust gases to move freely with less backpressure. The result is faster turbo spool, improved throttle response, and increased horsepower and torque across the RPM range.

Designed with a full 4" mandrel-bent inlet and long smooth transitions, the downpipe reduces turbulence while maintaining compatibility with both OEM and aftermarket exhaust systems. Precision CNC-machined V-band flanges, laser-cut brackets, and factory-positioned O2 bungs ensure a perfect, trouble-free fit.

Optional upgrades include ceramic thermal coating, additional O2 sensor bung, or EGT bung to support wideband tuning and temperature monitoring. Built for durability and tested on track, this downpipe delivers reliable performance gains while keeping engine bay temperatures lower.
