Overview: The APR Turbo Muffler Pipe and Turbo Outlet Hose provide a comprehensive upgrade to the factory components, resulting in a significantly larger and smoother airflow path. The turbo muffler, designed to dampen turbocharger sounds, is replaced to eliminate restriction and turbulence, increasing performance and enhancing the turbocharger's sound. By upgrading both the hose and muffler pipe simultaneously, the system matches the size of other hoses and pipes in the charge air system, similar to the higher output Golf R and S3 models.
Unlike some aftermarket components, the APR system retains the critical PCV vent path on the muffler pipe, essential for proper engine operation. The muffler pipe, made from billet aluminum with a satin black finish, eliminates the need for extra gaskets. The attached APR Turbo Outlet Hose replaces the factory rubber hose with a high-quality multi-ply silicone hose and strong Clampco T-bolt clamps. The hose has a 66% larger cross-sectional area than the stock, providing a smooth, uninterrupted airflow path with enhanced durability.
