Automobiles in the 21st century have replaced conventional throttle cable technology with an ECM (Electronic Control Module) that translates pedal travel into electronic signals to provide power to the wheels. The ETC system (Electronic Throttle Control), also known as drive-by-wire, can result in delayed throttle response and subdued acceleration, causing issues in situations such as uphill starts, quick gear changes, and overtaking. The Sprint Booster aims to overcome this throttle response delay for ETC-equipped vehicles, delivering crisp on-tap acceleration at the driver’s disposal.
Key Features:
- Simple Plug-and-Play Installation: For vehicles with electronic control (ETC) systems or drive-by-wire, this device plugs into the OE connector behind the accelerator pedal. No wire cutting or interference with the vehicle’s electronics required. It does not affect other systems such as electronic injection, ABS, etc.
- Three Acceleration Modes: The main button switches between three modes. When the LED is off, the Sprint Booster is deactivated, and the car retains factory settings. In Sport Mode (green LED), throttle response improves by up to 30%. In Race Mode (red LED), response improves by up to 60%.
- 18 Acceleration Programs: Each mode has nine programs. SPORT and RACE modes can be fine-tuned with '1' being the least aggressive and '9' the most aggressive. Adjust programs using the two arrow buttons on the device.
- Works for Both Automatic and Manual Transmissions: Transmission-specific modes and programs for better performance. Select transmission type through a slide switch on the device, automatically adjusting the programs accordingly.
- Valet and Pedal Lock Modes: Valet mode limits acceleration by 55%, 65%, or 75%, activated/deactivated with a three-digit PIN. Pedal Lock mode provides extra protection against unauthorized use, deactivating acceleration with a three-digit PIN.
- Better Drivability: Improved throttle response for effortless downshifts and safer overtaking. Noticeable improvement in transmission shifts for automatic transmissions.
