The aFe POWER Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System with Pro 5R Filter is engineered to deliver maximum airflow, aggressive power gains, and race-proven filtration for 2016–2019 GM HD trucks equipped with the 6.0L V8 and mechanical fan. Designed using advanced CAD modeling and extensive dyno testing, this sealed intake system offers a significant upgrade in performance, efficiency, and engine protection.
At the heart of the Momentum GT system is a high-quality, one-piece sealed housing, custom CAD-designed and roto-molded from heat-soak resistant cross-linked polyethylene. This design eliminates multi-piece assemblies while ensuring the coolest possible intake air charge. An auxiliary air inlet enhances airflow, and a large clear sight window allows for quick filter inspection without removing the airbox. A urethane plug is included for those who prefer to fully seal the housing.
Airflow is further optimized by a CAD-designed, dyno-tuned roto-molded intake tube, engineered specifically to maintain proper clearance with the factory mechanical fan while maximizing volumetric efficiency and throttle response.
The system is equipped with a large Pro 5R performance air filter, featuring five layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze oiled media for maximum airflow and excellent filtration. Designed for high-performance applications, the filter includes a 5-inch round flange, 9-inch tall inverted top, and a 100% polyurethane frame, allowing for long service life and multiple cleaning cycles.
Tested on a 2015 GM Silverado 6.0L with mechanical fan, the Momentum GT intake outflowed the factory intake by up to 38% and delivered gains of up to +20 horsepower and +23 lb-ft of torque. Installation is fast and straightforward, requiring no cutting or drilling of factory components, and is secured with premium clamps and hardware for long-term durability.
