The aFe POWER Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System with Pro 5R Filter is engineered to deliver increased airflow, improved engine performance, and long-term durability for GM 6.6L gas-powered HD trucks. Designed using advanced CAD modeling and validated through extensive testing, the Momentum GT intake offers a sealed, high-efficiency solution that outperforms the restrictive factory intake system.
This intake system flows 28% more air than the stock intake, with a measured airflow of 550 CFM @ 7" H₂O, helping improve throttle response and overall engine efficiency. The sealed housing design draws in cooler outside air through the factory air inlet, while an auxiliary air inlet provides additional airflow under higher demand conditions.
At the heart of the system is a large 360-degree radial flow Pro 5R air filter, featuring five layers of progressively finer pre-oiled cotton gauze media. The Pro 5R filter is washable and reusable, delivering maximum airflow and filtration efficiency while maintaining longer service intervals thanks to its inverted-top design, which increases usable filter surface area.
The Momentum GT filter-to-housing interface is engineered to accommodate the largest possible air filter while simplifying maintenance. Once installed, the filter can be removed for cleaning by simply disconnecting the intake tube—no need to remove the entire housing.
The intake housing is constructed from heat-resistant, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and features a smooth, one-piece sealed design that minimizes the number of components for a precise and secure fit. A large clear sight window allows for quick filter inspections without disassembly, making routine maintenance fast and convenient.
A computer-designed, dyno-tuned intake tube ensures optimized airflow while maintaining an OEM-style fit. The intake tube’s XLPE construction resists heat soak and engine bay temperatures for consistent performance.
Premium installation components include stainless-steel T-bolt clamps for superior clamping force and a high-quality bellows coupling that absorbs engine movement and ensures a secure, leak-free seal. With fewer parts than traditional intake systems, installation is straightforward and completely bolt-on using factory mounting locations.
