Description
The OBP Motorsport Dual Signal Linear Potentiometer is a high-precision, heavy-duty sensor designed for Drive-By-Wire (DBW) throttle systems. This professional-grade unit is engineered for motorsport environments where accuracy, durability, and reliability are critical.
What is Drive-By-Wire (DBW)?
Drive-By-Wire—often abbreviated as DBW—refers to modern electronic systems that replace traditional mechanical throttle linkages. Instead of using cables or rods to control throttle movement, DBW systems rely on electronic sensors to send real-time signals to the vehicle’s ECU when the pedal is pressed.
As more race and performance vehicles integrate DBW technology, this potentiometer enables easy conversion of an OBP pedal box into a DBW-compatible pedal system. Installation is simple—remove the mechanical linkage from behind the pedal, then mount the linear potentiometer between the pedal arm and the pedal base for seamless integration.
The OBP Dual Core Linear Potentiometer is built to endure high operational loads and extensive use cycles, making it ideal for competitive racing and high-performance environments.

Connection & Output Details:
Track 1
-
Red = +V
-
Black = 0V
-
Yellow = Signal
Track 2
-
Brown = +V
-
Blue = 0V
-
White = Signal
Displacement:
-
Fully Closed = +Vmax
-
Fully Open = 0V
The displacement signals can be reversed by swapping the connections to the Red and Black wires or Brown and Blue wires, allowing for a +Vmax output when fully open and 0V when fully closed.
Important: Do not connect the +V supply to the Yellow or White signal wires. Doing so may cause permanent damage to the sensor element.
