Description
The Burger Tuning JB4 for the 3.5L SmartStream Turbo V6 is a plug-and-play performance tuner designed to deliver gains of up to 100hp and 100tq at the wheels on an otherwise stock vehicle. Installation connects the JB4 directly to accessible engine sensors, where it works in conjunction with the factory ECU to optimize boost, timing, and fueling. The result is significantly improved performance, sharper throttle response, and reduced turbo lag while maintaining smooth OEM-like drivability.
Compared to basic piggyback chips, the JB4 advanced design utilizes a fully programmable CANbus system, allowing real-time adjustment based on throttle input, pedal position, gear, RPM, air/fuel ratio, fuel trims, ignition timing, knock feedback, and more. The JB4 also supports reading and clearing fault codes and includes comprehensive built-in safety protocols. These protections monitor oil and coolant temperature, boost levels, air/fuel ratio, and knock activity—automatically switching to a low-boost safety map if any unsafe condition is detected.
The default Map 1 increases boost by roughly 4psi over stock. Additional maps—including stock mode and valet mode—can be switched on the fly using a JB4 data cable or the wireless JB4PRO Bluetooth module. Maps are available for 91 octane, 93 octane, and E85 mixtures. Fuel economy during normal driving remains unchanged, and all factory drive modes operate normally.
The optional JB4PRO Bluetooth module allows wireless access from any iOS or Android device. The free JB4PRO app enables data logging, map selection, firmware updates, diagnostic functions, and advanced log analysis to evaluate performance and monitor engine health.

The JB4 is an advanced plug-and-play tuning system for turbocharged vehicles. By intercepting and enhancing data between the engine sensors and ECU/DME, it enables safer and more sophisticated performance improvements than basic piggyback chips.
