What is the FX-170?

The FX-170 is a fully plug-and-play upgraded high-pressure fuel pump system for the Mercedes-AMG M157 platform (5.5L Biturbo). With a larger bore than the factory pump, it provides ~50% more flow, supporting higher ethanol blends and increased fuel demands from turbo upgrades or aggressive tuning.

Tune Requirements:

• Calibration/tune adjustments are required when installing FX-170 pumps. Spool Performance can provide your tuner with the necessary calibration data.
• Do not start the car with the upgraded pump without the proper tune—this may cause damage and void warranty.

Low Pressure Fueling Advisory:

To maintain reliability and avoid damage, proper low-pressure fueling (LPFP) must accompany the FX-170. Starvation can damage the pump's piston and bore. Spool Performance recommends upgrading to a Stage 3 LPFP when running this high-pressure setup.
