The MMX Performance Billet Oil Filter Housing Cap is a high-performance upgrade for BMW owners looking to eliminate the common failure point of the OEM plastic oil filter housing. BMW equips many of its models with a fragile plastic cap that is prone to cracking during regular oil filter changes. This often leads to persistent oil leaks that compromise reliability and engine cleanliness. MMX Performance solves this issue with a durable, precision-engineered billet aluminium replacement.
Machined from a single block of aerospace-grade 6061 aluminium, each cap is manufactured using state-of-the-art CNC 5-axis milling technology. The result is a part that is not only structurally superior but also aesthetically refined. Each unit is polished and then gloss-anodized in Midnight Black for a long-lasting, premium finish.
This upgraded oil filter housing cap includes an integrated pressure control oil bypass valve, removing the need to transfer the fragile OE plastic valve from the factory housing. This design eliminates the risk of damaging the OE valve—a common issue with other aftermarket housings.
Installation is simple and best performed during an oil and filter change. The cap includes a factory-spec O-ring and is compatible with both the OEM oil filter and the MMX Performance Oil Filter (part number MMR17-1502), which provides extra protection against known B58 oil filter collapse issues.
Note: Exposure to excessive heat over long periods may affect the visual finish of anodized aluminium. This does not impact the product's function or structural integrity.
