After extensive research and development, Active Autowerke proudly presents the GEN 2 of our EL midpipes. This latest iteration features advanced resonators specifically engineered to diminish rasp in the exhaust notes while maintaining a balanced sound volume. A notable advantage of the GEN 2 midpipes is the reduction of the "2k buzzing" that many BMW enthusiasts find bothersome, as well as the attenuation of the cold start rattle commonly associated with factory systems.
The GEN 2 EL midpipe will replace the original EL midpipe, and we are offering a special upgrade program for existing owners who wish to benefit from these improvements. This upgrade program is exclusively available to original purchasers of the EL midpipes, with proof of purchase required. For more details, please contact Active Autowerke.
Upgrade Program Details:
- To participate in the upgrade program, return your original EL midpipe to Active Autowerke. You are responsible for shipping costs to and from Active.
- If you prefer to receive the GEN 2 midpipe before sending back your original, a $1,000 deposit is required. This deposit will be refunded upon receipt of the original EL midpipe at Active Autowerke.
- Shipping within the 48 contiguous US states is a fixed price of $90, which covers both the shipment of the upgraded midpipe to you and the return shipping of the original midpipe (a prepaid shipping label will be provided).
Important Note for International Customers: For shipping costs outside the 48 contiguous US states, please contact Active Autowerke directly. The $90 fixed price does not apply.
We recommend the resonated version of the GEN 2 midpipes for vehicles equipped with aftermarket downpipes. However, testing has only been conducted with stock and Active downpipes, and stock and Active rear exhausts. The resonated version features an additional large flat resonator designed to further reduce cold start rattle and rasp.
