The BMW G20 B48 Eventuri intake system is engineered to enhance the performance of your turbocharged engine. By providing a less restrictive flow path and minimizing inlet temperatures, this intake system optimizes heat and volume considerations. In the G20 model, the intake system is positioned next to the exhaust manifold, which quickly heats up the engine bay. High temperatures can negatively impact engine performance, as the turbo would have to work with heated, less dense air to build boost. To combat this, the Eventuri intake ensures minimal intake air temperatures (IAT) by maintaining a fully sealed design.
Our intake system takes advantage of an additional opening in the wheel arch area, adding a secondary feed to the airbox. Additionally, the airbox features a heat shield with gold reflective backing to minimize heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To maximize volume, the airbox is designed to be as large as possible, even accommodating potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube, which not only increases internal volume but also provides a seamless path from the filter to the turbo inlet.
At Eventuri, we go beyond the standard cone filters with heat shields. Our patented Carbon Fibre Housings and Gen 2 bespoke filters create an aerodynamically efficient airflow path, invoking the Venturi effect and maintaining laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo. Please note that the G20 B48 OEM airbox system was updated in cars built after November 2018, replacing the airflow sensor with a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. As a result, we offer two variations: the V1 intake, which accommodates the MAF (airflow) sensor, and the V2 intake for cars built after November 2018 that use a temperature sensor.
