Crafted from Prepreg Carbon Fiber, the Eventuri airbox serves two objectives: sealing the filter against engine bay heat and providing a dual cold air feed. By encapsulating the filter and offering a large internal volume, the airbox effectively isolates the intake air from the surrounding heat. The intake tube is sealed with a laser-cut plate and rubber sealing strip, preventing heated air from entering the airbox. To combat radiant heat transfer, the airbox features an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side.
One of the challenges of a fully sealed airbox design is the restriction of cold air feed. The stock airbox system draws air from a single duct extending to the front bumper area. However, during development, Eventuri identified an additional cold air source—an opening between the wheel arch and the chassis on which the airbox sits. To utilize this source, Eventuri extended a scoop at the back of the design, protruding into the wheel arch. This secondary feed allows the turbocharger to draw air from a larger area, reducing the restriction and maximizing performance.
What sets the Eventuri intake system apart is its patented Carbon Fibre Housings with Gen 2 bespoke filters. Unlike conventional cone filters with heat shields, Eventuri's unique design invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions, reducing drag on the turbocharger. The result is an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos, optimizing performance gains. Please note that the G20 B58 OEM airbox system was updated in cars built after November 2018, replacing the airflow sensor with a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. To accommodate this change, we offer two variations: the V1 intake, designed for cars with an airflow (MAF) sensor, and the V2 intake, compatible with cars built after November 2018 that use a temperature sensor.
