The Eventuri Toyota Supra B48 Black Carbon Intake System, designed specifically for the MKV Supra 2.0 B48, is engineered to optimize turbo performance while ensuring low inlet temperatures. Turbocharged engines require careful consideration of heat and volume for effective intake design. In the Supra, the intake system is situated near the exhaust manifold, which quickly heats up the engine bay. Elevated temperatures negatively impact engine performance, forcing the turbo to generate boost using heated, less dense air. To counteract this, the Eventuri intake is fully sealed, keeping intake air temperatures (IAT's) to a minimum.
During the development process, we discovered an additional opening into the wheel arch area and leveraged this opportunity by adding a secondary feed to our airbox. Moreover, our sealed airbox incorporates a heat shield with gold reflective backing to minimize radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To maximize volume, we designed the airbox to be as large as possible, even accommodating potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube that offers a larger internal volume, starting with a generous internal diameter of 111mm (4.4") and smoothly tapering down to match the turbo inlet. This tube provides an unobstructed path from the filter to the turbo inlet, optimizing airflow.
The Eventuri intake system includes a carbon fiber airbox with dual feeds, a bespoke high-flow dry cone filter, a carbon fiber inlet tube with a 111mm opening ID, a CNC machined temperature sensor mount, a CNC machined breather adapter, a heat shield with gold reflective backing, laser-cut stainless steel brackets, and a silicone coupler with OEM specification clamps. The custom-made high-flow dry filter is ISO tested for filtration performance and boasts a larger filtration area than the stock filter.
