The Mercedes GLC63 intake system from Eventuri is the pinnacle of development and testing. With a clear design brief focused on three main objectives, we have created a high-performance intake system that delivers exceptional results. Our first objective was to achieve increased flow rate, and we have accomplished this by utilizing every inch of the limited space available in the GLC63S engine bay. As a result, our intake system provides a remarkable 35% higher flow rate compared to the stock system.
To address the second objective of maintaining low intake temperatures, we have designed a fully sealed system. The GLC63S engine bay is known to generate high temperatures, with heat sources such as the turbos located in close proximity to the intake. It is crucial to ensure that the intake remains sealed under these conditions. Our intake system guarantees a secure seal, allowing for optimal performance even in demanding temperature conditions.
The third objective involved creating a smooth airflow path. We achieved this by designing an organically shaped system with custom rounded panel filters. This design eliminates sharp corners along the airflow path, ensuring laminar flow. Smooth transitions from the filters to the turbo inlets further minimize turbulence formation. By reducing turbulence, our intake system enables the turbos to operate more efficiently, resulting in improved throttle response and genuine power gains.
With all three objectives met, our Eventuri GLC63 intake system excels in delivering on all fronts. It allows the turbos to generate boost more efficiently, providing a noticeable increase in throttle response and genuine power gains. These gains become even more pronounced when combined with higher states of tune. Additionally, our intake system caters to various turbo upgrades available for the GLC63S, offering specific configurations with outlets of either 61mm ID to match stock turbos or 76.5mm ID to match larger turbos.
In terms of performance, our Stage 2 upgrade offers impressive gains of 22-30 horsepower and 20-24 ft-lb of torque, while even with the stock configuration, you can expect gains of 10-12 horsepower and 12-15 ft-lb of torque. These figures are supported by flowbench data, where the Eventuri intake outperforms the stock airbox with a significant increase in flow rate, from 347 CFM to 468 CFM per airbox.
